DAB 1αX brings the French startup DAB Motors, supported by Peugeot Motocycles, a new edition of its first series electric motorcycle DAB 1α – this time with significantly more off-road ambitions.
The whole thing was presented at the Milan Design Week 2025The new machine is technically based on the predecessor model, but offers features that elevate it far beyond urban use.
2025 DAB 1αX Scrambler
Instead of the road-friendly Diablo Rosso tires, the 1αX 17-inch spoked wheels with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber – ideal for gravel, mud, and forest trails. The high front fender made of recycled carbon fiber (from Airbus aircraft parts!) and robust fork spring guards provide the necessary look and also serve the purpose.
Join in LED lighting, adjustable Paioli suspension and Brembo brakes – all solid ingredients for true off-road performance. However, comfort is not lost: The 1αX incorporates highlights such as Alcantara seat and glove compartment from its predecessor. Those who want can also have their bike in the company’s own DAB Custom Studio individualize.
Engine, battery & range
The whole thing is driven by a centrally mounted electric motor with 11 kW continuous power and a Peak of around 35 hpBut the torque is more important: 395 Nm are waiting for a Motorrad a pretty bold statement.
The energy delivers 7,1 kWh battery, which according to DAB is for up to 150 km range Charging is done via an integrated Battery charger in approximately 3h. And the 72V battery is repairable and recyclable – a point for environmentally conscious people.
Weight, riding modes & extras
With 125 kg Weight The DAB 1αX is pleasingly light and offers various driving modes – Eco, Road, Sport and a particularly fun Nitrous mode, which is activated by a button, inspired by Need for Speed Underground 2. For narrow passages there is even a reverse gear – rare, but useful.
Price and availability
The DAB 1αX starts at about 15.000 €, and is therefore even cheaper than the original road model DAB 1α. As always, you’ll find all further information in the video! Image and video credits/source: DAB Motors | This content was created using AI and reviewed by an editor.
