MGA Restomod – Classic meets contemporary in a special way!

When British elegance meets modern engineering, vehicles like the MGA Factory Edition from Frontline Cars are created.

The classic MG A, a design highlight of the 50s, is getting a technical makeover from the British manufacturer from Abingdon – without losing its nostalgic charm.

Three times as much power

And what Frontline Cars has created is no half-hearted conversion. The MGA restomod is based on the original chassis – either as Roadster or coupé – but was modernized down to the last screw.

Instead of the tired 68 hp of the 1,5-liter engine from the fifties, there is now two more powerful options: a 2,0-liter four-cylinder with 225 hp or a 2,5-liter with an impressive 290 hp. Particularly powerful: 330 Nm torque bring the Lightweight with only 815 kg in 4,1 seconds at 100 km / h. This is a completely different world than the 13 to 16 seconds the original took.

Switching is done via a Mazda five-speed transmissionthat with a locking differential The rear axle? No longer rigid, but an adjustable Five-link system with telescopic shock absorbers from Nitron. And the brakes? Now with four-piston calipersAnd to ensure that everything remains clearly controllable, there is a electric servo.

Body – tried and tested with a new touch

Visually, the MGA remains true to the original, but meticulous attention was paid to detail. Rust-removed sheet metal, perfect gaps, and paintwork to your liking. If you want, you can keep it completely retro – or upgrade it right away: for example, with Dunlop alloys, LED headlights with logo, plexiglass panels and start numbers in Sebring style.

Interior – Classic outside, comfortable inside

In the cockpit Craftsmanship meets modernity. Leather or Alcantara of your choice, electric windows (in the coupé), seat heating and on request a climate. The classic Smiths instruments retain their look, but depend on a modern control unitEven the sound system is new—with Bluetooth. And the handcrafted seats? Shape and upholstery: freely configurable.

History with style

The MGA came onto the market in 1955 – and was a completely new beginning for MG at the time. Flat, elegant, sporty – a break with its long-legged predecessor. By 1962, over 100.000 piece built, the majority of which were exported. And the modern Factory Edition honors the Classics – but with technology that also meets today’s demands.

And finally ... The MGA factory edition from Frontline Cars is not a retro toy, but a serious sports car with Classic look and contemporary technology. And that's exactly what makes it exciting. Image and video credits/source: Frontline Cars
